History of Marie Byrd City

Marie Byrd City was formally founded in 2010 by William Crane (as capital of Marie Byrd Land, a US Territory) after unoffically existing as multiple large ports and mining towns. Back then, there were only 30 large skyscrapers. MBC has a prosperous existence due to the mining boom which started after massive amounts of highly valuable minerals were found around the Marie Byrd Land region. On Christmas Day, 2033, Marie Byrd Land seceded from the USA, and the mayor of MBC, Nathan Shepherd, is the defacto leader until Chairman's elections can be held.
